Public Affairs Spotlight

It be shining on me.

I’m happy that the whole honor was focused on my efforts for bicycle and pedestrian advocacy instead of simply academic stuff. The academic stuff is important, but all too often it is, well, academic ;-)

Congratulations! Well deserved, even though those newspaper people claim they are journalist types as well. Pat yourself on the back and think some happy thoughts!

Well deserved honor, now if you could help develop a human-powered bass boat that works on Bull Shoals, etc.

While in Montreal, I saw a show on Kevlar canoes. Andy, put those journalism “other than teaching” skills to work!

Congrats! Nice to see someone honored for bicycle related stuff.

Watch out for Red Hartebeest whilst you’re out and about on your bike.

More importantly, that’s why you watch for potential hazards such as large animals. A buddy of mine at work was airlifted to an ICU after he grazed a mule deer and hit a tree, head on, while riding his motorcycle to work. Took him months to recover. He was wearing a full coverage helmet, but the only reason he didn’t bleed to death was that the bicyclist who found him was trained in advanced first aid.
