Into the Wilderness

Pedestrians will find a way — or make a way.

On my walk to work this morning I noticed how many paths had been beaten into the snow creating something like a transportation network for people able-bodied enough to walk on ice and snow.

The footprints and the number of paths tell a story: A lot of people walk hereabouts, and they will walk despite the hostile conditions.

I saw the most amazing thing this morning. Someone crossing the Glenstone viaduct on foot. The snow on the sidewalk had turned to packed, treacherous ice that was difficult to walk on… So they were doing a balancing act on the concrete divider between the road and the sidewalk. Not exactly what you would call safe.
