Today, Springfield, Missouri is a bronze-level Bicycle Friendly Community, according to the League of American Bicyclists.
I am especially proud that we earned this award without painting anymore bicycle lanes.
This award partly represents the hard work of a the STAR Team of Ozark Greenways.
And we’ve been encouraged by enlightened leaders in our community who understand that bicycle-friendliness contributes to the well-being of the entire community.

I’d say that accomplishing the one without busting the paint budget calls for a DOUBLE congrats! I think this has been a good week for AC all round.

But the next step is to see the CIP tax pass so we can begin installing the new signs for the bicycle route system. That project will also place sharrows on that system.
