Still On Foot

There’s still an uncomfortable amount of snow out there, so I continue to walk to work. Here’s the dreary scene from my office window this morning.

A wintry mix is on the way — due by noon. Yuck.

But not to worry. I wear on of those wonderful Carhartt jackets that are large and roomy to accommodate layers. This thing laughs off wintry mixes.

Darn you. Now you got me looking through the Bass Pro and Cabelas websites to see things that would work well for cycling. You ever try using shooting gloves for cycling? They would seem to be just the ticket.

Steve… I live less than two miles from Bass Pro HQ, so I do a lot of shopping there :-) Never tried the shooting gloves. But the rain gear is excellent.

I think my bike is getting cabin fever. This is what happens when I get all excited about my new handlebars.

Bass Pro is within cycling distance of me. Maybe 10 miles at most. Cabela’s is 20 miles away, but just happens to be on my bike commute route to work, though I’ve never been there since they’re always closed when I pass by.

There’s an Eddie Bauer on the route when I drive, but I’m not very impressed with them, even if I AM a Seattle boy. Eddie strikes me as “pretend” outdoor gear for the most part.
