Here I am on my front patio reading David Byrne’s new book Bicycle Diaries. I’ll review it here after I’m finished, which won’t be too long because it’s been a smooth read so far.

This also happens to be a good spot to watch bicyclists and pedestrians. There are usually a steady stream of bicyclists on Fremont starting around 3:00 p.m., and they keep parading by well into the early evening. Local bicycle blogger Tracy Wilkins passes by here.
Tomorrow is the First Friday Art Walk. Be sure to drop by Global Fayre. There’s a guy going to run a marathon on a treadmill in front of the store in an event called 26.2 Miles 4 Africa. My wife and I will be bicycling downtown as usual. Perhaps we’ll see you there.

The restaurants use them around their outdoor seating… seems odd that they’d work at all since it’s so humid here, but they’re better than nothing.
