I must disagree with you here! I am into equipment but not equipment that is light and stylish.

I read this post yesterday and then packed up a projector, laptop computer, towel and clothes into my waterproof ortlieb bags. Then I put on my SPD sandels, waterproof cycling jacket, turned on my $300 headlamp and my two taillights.

Then I jumped on my bicycle equipped with front and rear racks, fenders, disc brakes and a 14 speed rohloff hub and rode in a driving rain storm to teach a class.

All of that equipment was very important in making my trip possible. Without much of that equipment many bicycle commuters would have been in the car for sure.

Equipment is very important to a bicycle commuter.
