This just in from Ozark Greenways Executive Director Terry Whaley, re: construction at 60/65 across the Galloway Creek Trail:
Just want you to know that a few trail users on the Galloway Trail received tickets over the weekend for crossing into the construction zone. Tickets were issued by the Springfield Police Department and were based on concern for public safety.
This was not, and is not an Ozark Greenways decision. However, the area is an active construction zone. The contractor has placed fence in areas of concern as it relates to construction and public access.
Please encourage your trail partners to visit other trails or if using Galloway do not run or bike thru the construction zone. This is going to be an ongoing inconvenience for some time.
