Carbon Trace

I just heard from NYCEWheels that my Brompton is finally on its way. I should have it by the middle of next week if not sooner This process took so long because I ordered a custom bicycle. I’ll have more to report when it comes.

The Sustainble Transportation Committee of Ozark Greenways met last night. We are, BTW, still thinking about another name for the committee. The current one doesn’t exactly roll easily off the ol’ tongue. Ideas? Perhaps a snappy acronym that begins with a fricative so it can be “verbed”

Some of you may be aware that I’m not big on group rides. Many people have fun on such rides; more power to ‘em! As something of a joke at last night’s meeting, I suggested a utility-cycling ride. Bicyclists would meet at a centrally-located park with a pavilion, picnic tables, and grills, such as Phelps Grove. Each bicyclist would be given a shopping list, e.g. beer, charcoal, ligher, hot dogs, soda pop, hamburger, chips, baked beans, etc. — enough stuff so you have to think about what you’re doing. We would then ride to the store and shop. Upon return to the park, we would have a picnic! Several people thought that sounded like a good idea, so I think I’m going to work on it
