Kickstand Love

I installed my new Pyramid kickstand this morning. It was love at first park :-)

Now my Redline R530 stands upright and steady for loading. I’m thinking the Redline people ought to make this style kickstand standard equipment on this model.

Other things I’ve added:

  • Handlebar mirror
  • Front basket mount
  • Hobson seat
  • BMX pedals

    Nice!

I’m definitely a fan of either no kickstand or one like yours.

I see bicycles parked with kickstands all the time that fall over just a few minutes later.

I think you are better off leaning a bike against a wall or just laying it down rather than propping it up with a tiny, one legged kickstand.

I think kickstand is two words or maybe two words with a – between them. You went with one word and since you are the doctor….I went with you. : )

    Robert…

I’m usually a fan of hyphenating compound nouns. But the trend is toward one word. Take your pick :-)

Shek… This thing is pretty stout. I’ll bet it would hold your xtracycle.

lol. I had no idea what a compound noun is.

Anyway, I wanted to introduce you to someone. Alex Tetlak is a professor at Truman State University and a bicycle advocate. He was the key person in getting a new bicycle coop there and he is an LCI.

Alex is a great guy and I cant help but think that the two of you would have a lot in common.

His email is on my work computer but I would suggest you look him up on the Truman website and send him a note.

I told Alex about your blog while we were in D.C. so if you tell him that I sent you he should know what you are talking about.
